Dolls House Floorboards ...on a Roll

Simply cut the floorboard strip into lengths slightly longer than the room length using scissors or a craft knife. Lay the strips side by side on the dolls house floor.

Apply heat from an iron to stick the floorboard strips into position (either individually or several at a time). The floorboard strips will stick instantly so there's no need to clamp or weigh them down. The strips can be moved / removed by re-heating if necessary.

Trim the ends of the floorboards with a sharp craft knife flush with the edge of the floor. If desired the finished floor boards can be lightly sanded.

The floorboards can be left natural or finished with most common wood finishing products if preferred. We recommend using woodstain and an antique coloured wax polish.

The Material
The Floorboard strip is made from real Cherry veneer which is a fine grained hardwood. We have found this to be by far the best wood for 1:12 scale floorboards as it is easy to apply and produces a very realistic finish with minimal finishing.

Finishing
The floorboards can be left natural or finished using woodstain and/or antique coloured wax polish if desired.

The wood has a very smooth surface and wax polish alone will give it a very nice finish, without the need for varnishing although varnish can be used if preferred.
